The Saint Charles Borromeo Council of the Knights of Columbus sponsors this annual work of mercy. The Apostleship of the Sea in Baltimore collects donations at Christmas time for seafarers away from home at Christmas in the form of shoeboxes filled with things that sailors need.

Some suggested items include: hand sanitizer, face masks, soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, skin lotions, tooth paste, tooth brushes, dental floss, disposable razors, shaving cream, combs & brushes, etc. Personal Items such as decks of playing cards, note pads, pens, pencils, paperclips, eyeglass lens cleaning papers, cotton ear swabs, packs of band aids. Reading material, such as used magazines, paperback books, puzzle books. Religious Items, such as used Catholic Magazines, religious books, CDs and DVDs, prayer booklets & devotionals, scapulars, medals, rosaries, small statues, crosses, & neck chains with crosses or medals.

The Shoebox Program will receive donations on the weekends of December 21 & 22 and December 28 & 29. Return any filled shoe boxes or empty plastic totes to the collection box in the church narthex.
