REMAIN STEADFAST IN FAITH

Our Lenten theme is, “Steadfast: Growing as a Resolute Christian.” Let us pray for each other as we continue to be steadfast, growing as resolute Christians. We trust in God's steadfast love and mercy during every circumstance.

 

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

To follow Archdiocese of Baltimore directives to comply with the Governor's Executive Orders. Our nation is attempting to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We want lessen human suffering and the burden on the health care system.

 

ALL EVENTS ARE CANCELLED

The Parish Staff is exploring ways to have meetings and faith formation activities via telephone conferencing.

 

PARISH OFFICE

 

Per Archdiocese of Baltimore directives to comply with the Governor's Executive Order, the Parish Office is closed to the public. However, you can reach staff members by phone or email. Our contact information is here. I ask for your patience as we strive to return your voice mail message or email. This is a new situation for us as it is for you.

 

MASS INTENTIONS

We are not receiving new Mass intentions until the Easter season. Hence, Mass Cards are not available.

Following Archdiocese of Baltimore directives to comply with the Governor's Executive Order, the church is closed until further notice. This is to slow the spread of the COVID -19 virus.

HOLY MASS

Archbishop Lori has suspended the public celebration of Holy Mass until further notice.This is to slow the spread of the COVID -19 virus. Father Angel and Father Harris are fulfilling Mass intentions on our parish calendar. We are live-streaming Holy Mass. See below.

CONFESSIONS

Following Archdiocese of Baltimore directives to comply with the Governor's Executive Order, the celebration of sacramental confessions is suspended until further notice This is to slow the spread of the COVID -19 virus. Sacramental confessions cannot be heard over the telephone or via video conference.

Holy Week & Easter

 

BAPTISMS

Per Archdiocesan directive to comply the Governor's Executive Order, baptisms are not to be celebrated and must be rescheduled after current restrictions have been lifted. Only in cases where death is imminent should the sacraments be administrated at this time. Only in cases where death is imminent. and a priest or deacon is not available, any person can baptize with water, pouring over the head three times while saying, "Name, I baptize you in the name of the Father ]pour water], and of the Son [pour water], and of the Holy Spirit [pour water]." It does not have to be holy water.

PASTORAL CARE

APPOINTMENTS WITH PASTOR

Call Father Harris (410-922-3800, ext. 6) or send an email (rharris@archbalt.org). Usually your issue can be handled by phone or email. This include counseling via telephone. Confessions cannot be heard via telephone or via video conference.

PASTORAL EMERGENCIES

Per Archdiocese of Baltimore directives, anointings by priests not serving as hospital chaplains are only to be offered in cases where the individual is actively dying.  

FUNERALS

Per Archdiocese of Baltimore directives to comply with  the Governor's Executive Order, Funeral Masses cannot be celebrated at this time. Graveside Rite of Committal services can be held with no more than 10 persons gathered (which includes the priest or deacon). We will work with families to arrange a Memorial Mass after the restrictions have been lifted.

VISITING HOMES

Per Archdiocese of Baltimore directives, we cannot visit homes at this time. This is to protect the homebound. Some of us may be carrying a virus even if we do not have symptoms.

  

HOSPITAL VISITS

Per Archdiocese of Baltimore directives, the priests cannot visit the hospital unless there is a person actively dying and the hospital allows us to visit.

Our March beneficiary is the Saint Vincent de Paul Society as we serve those in need. You can write a check to “Saint Vincent de Paul Society” and send it to the Parish Office.

 

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

Following guidance by the Archdiocesan Saint Vincent de Paul Society, the distribution is postponed to a later date.

 

FAITH FORMATION

SCHOOL OF RELIGION

Mrs. JoAnn Harvan-Chin is in communication with our families. She will be considering how we can continue faith formation and sacramental preparation for our children and youth.

 

BIBLE STUDIES

The evening Bible Study with Father Harris will resume after Easter.
